ELIGIBILITY & APPLICATION

You must meet the following criteria to participate:
  • Grade Level: Secondary school students (Years 9 - 12) on the following instruments: voice, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, piano, bass & drums. Other instrumentalists are encouraged to apply if you have a particular interest in jazz or contemporary music.
  • Application: You are required to submit an application form (see link below).
  • Teacher Recommendation: Students must obtain the support of either their classroom or instrumental music teacher, endorsing the application. This is completed as part of the application and can be downloaded through the link below.​
  • There are a limited number of positions for QREP (FNQ) and applications may close early if the required instrumentation and number of positions are reached. All applications can be made via this website.​​
  • Submit your completed application to the QREP Coordinator by emailing [email protected].
QREP (FNQ) APPLICATION

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Contemporary Bands – Students play in ensembles matched to their skill level.
  • Workshops & Masterclasses – Led by professional musicians & educators from CQU
  • ​Improvisation & Performance Training – Build confidence and musicality.
  • Free Showcase Concert – A chance for students to perform live!
  • 2-day event,  8.30 am - 4 pm both days.
  • Students to bring own packed morning tea and lunch for both days.

PARTICPATION FEE & PAYMENT

  • QREP Participation Fee - $165.00
  • Students offered a position at QREP (FNQ) will be emailed a payment link via the email address provided on each application. Payment for QREP (FNQ) is required within 7 days of invoicing.
