ABOUT QREP (FNQ)
The Queensland Regional Ensemble Program – Far North Queensland (QREP-FNQ) is a CQUniversity initiative providing high school musicians with an immersive jazz and contemporary music experience. Building on the long-running Jammin’ outreach program in the region since 2007, QREP-FNQ is led by CQU Music staff and expert directors. Students will be placed in ensembles, develop their musicianship, collaboration, and performance skills, and participate in a final showcase concert celebrating their achievements.
Led by CQUniversity Music Staff, QREP focuses on fostering musicianship, collaboration, and performance excellence. Participants will be grouped into ensembles matched by skill level and guided by an expert director, will rehearse a jazz and contemporary repertoire, culminating in a showcase concert that celebrates their collective achievements.
This program provides an opportunity for young musicians in Far North Queensland to engage with high-level ensemble training led by professional jazz clinicians, typically unavailable outside South East Queensland. St Augustine's College, with extraordinary new facility, serves as the ideal host venue for this new event.
